BEN
Fairy tales were originally told by and for adults around the fire, to dispel the shadows during the long hours of the night. They were much more grotesque than the fairy tales we heard as children. But if we delve deeper into that world, we ask other questions; do we really know what happened to the witch? And what happened to Hansel and Gretel? Did they live happily ever after? Did they stay in the cottage at the end of the forest?
We follow a small group of actors from another time into the landscape. Or is it Hansel and Gretel? A forest walk over logs and stones into the world of fairy tales and folklore. Here are mythological deer and other creatures, a magical lake and a castle. Along the way, you will also encounter, in addition to the forest's own inhabitants and other hikers, your own fantasies and fears.
A walk in the twilight where all the senses are strengthened and put to the test; sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. And not to forget – the sixth sense. The landscape and nature itself play a part in this dangerous walking theatre in celebration of the hidden sides of the summer night, which open up during the walk and where songs whisper among the trees.
Ben is an adventurous theatre experience for adults, beyond the ordinary, where you as an audience become part of the performance. Who knows, maybe you will live happily ever after. As an audience, you are invited to: a walk, a performance, a wedding, a fertility festival, a 1000th anniversary and much more.
